WHAT DOES THE NAME MEAN?

State or place of perfect bliss (greek myth)

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SHOP?

An interesting mix of contemporary and classical interior & fashion items European styling with eastern influences -highlighting undiscovered products and talents.

WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR STOCK FROM?

Trade fairs and my travels.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO OPEN YOUR SHOP?

I trained in textile design at Nottingham Trent University.
I have been working in the interior design industry for the last 12 years most recently I have been working on residential properties mainly in the North Leeds, Cheshire.

HOW DID IT BEGIN?

I have been collating products/suppliers/images that inspire me over the last few years, from exhibitions, magazines and my visits to the Far East. I needed an outlet for all my ideas and opening my own store seemed liked the natural step forward.

WHAT OTHER SKILLS DO YOU HAVE?

I create stimulating mood boards for interiors, weddings & events -I write an Interior Design column for Beyond Leeds and York magazine.

What Bespoke services do you offer at Elysian?

Elysian offers services for Interior Design, Garden Landscaping and a unique dressing service for your home or event.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS AREA OF LEEDS?

Moortown is an affluent area of Leeds,with a multicultural clientele -there are a lot of established independent shops, bars and restaurants in the area and I wanted to be part of this.

WHO WOULD BE YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER?

Somebody well travelled, with an eye for detail -if they had plenty of spare cash this would help too!!!

£5.00-£3000…upwards

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS TIME?

Running the Interior Design service and retail separately, allowing myself more time to source products and perhaps have my own product range.

WILL YOU EXPAND IF ELYSIAN IS A SUCCESS?

I would definitely like to expand Elysian, but would like to retain the exclusivity and service. Elysian needs to continue to be interesting and constantly evolving.
